The Unrefined Olive launched in Ottawa on November of 2012 with our first store in The Glebe. We soon expanded with a second store in Kanata in May 2015.

With a change of ownership April 4th, 2025, I would like to introduce myself.

I am Mike George, new owner of Unrefined Olive and also Aurelius Fine Olive Oils & Balsamic Vinegars.

I started Aurelius Fine Oils & Balsamic Vinegars while still serving in the military as an answer to my uncle's question during a family dinner in Italy in 2016: Would Canadians be interested in REAL olive oil?

I decided I was going to find out.  For the next 2 years, I would set up my small table at bakeries and local markets on weekends.  After getting out there and networking, I was lucky enough to start selling to a few top restaurants here in Ottawa (Riviera, e18hteen, North & Navy).  Then in 2018, I decided to leave the military and open my retail brick-and-mortar tasting boutique in Wellington West, Ottawa.

Since then, our authentic, small-batch and artisanal products have garnered a strong reputation amongst our fans.  We also offer an amazing quantity of flavoured olive oils and balsamic vinegars which will surely keep you coming back for more.  

We strive to provide you with the Aurelius experience and turn you from a customer to a fan.
