Revealing the flavours of fresh food with our products
On Thursday evening of this week we had a special meeting in the Glebe-Ottawa in an olive oil and balsamic vinegar store: The Unrefined Olive. The session was organized by the nice couple running Our Little Farm, an organic farm of the Ottawa-Gatineau region. We registered for their summer bi-weekly vegetable delivery and they invited us to this workshop about how to use olive oil and balsamic vinegar to reveal the flavor of fresh food. I already knew the power of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but I was really surprised by the number of different olive oils with very specific taste. We were able to taste every olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which are among the best ones in the world (it is always like that in this shop, not only during the workshop). I really had a crush on some vinegars which were really like desert to drink: blueberry vinegar, chocolate vinegar or more standard ones! We finally left with one bottle of Persian Lime olive oil and one of Raspberry balsamic vinegar. Our salad and food at home won’t be the same any more. If you don’t know about great olive oils and balsamic vinegar, I definitely recommend experimenting.
